Cupping and Gua Sha

Cupping and Gua Sha

Similar to massage, cupping and gua sha are used to release muscle tension and tightness. Gua Sha works with stuck fascia. Fascia is the tissue that connects skin to muscle and is everywhere in our bodies. A jade tool is used in a scraping motion across stuck areas, breaking up and releasing the stuck fascia and stiff muscles created by overuse and stress.

Cupping is often called a reverse massage. This method utilizes glass cups which are used to create suction over any areas of stagnation. This action gently pulls up and decompresses hardened muscles and sticky fascia.

Both modalities generate blood flow and increase oxygen, reviving cells and tissues.
